Cuba is a beautiful, friendly, safe, and mysterious country. There are numerous interesting sites and activities to enjoy while visiting there. Travelers from all over the world are amazed by the cities, small towns, the countryside, the mountains, and some of the Caribbean’s most beautiful beaches. Cuba is also the location of many significant events in American history as well as in world history. Cuba is a favorite travel destination for Canadians and Europeans. Unfortunately, most Americans do not realize this or understand how to travel there legally. Some goals of our new website include educating our fellow Americans about what they are missing. I also want to explain why I now strongly believe this situation may dramatically change in the next 3-6 months.

I first visited Cuba in 1999 as an RN on a medical expedition. I returned often during the following decade, visiting all parts of the country. In 2012 I began leading my own small-group tours focusing on culture, the arts, outdoor adventures, and Cuba’s national health care system. All of my expeditions were completely legal, with the exception of a trip in 2011 which was deemed “mostly legal” by the U.S. Government. There was no penalty. Beginning in October 2024 I will be a guide for one or two groups a month. I will also assist other travelers to visit on their own, meeting up with my friend and travel agent in Havana. But I am most excited about creating an online course that will teach others to learn how to be guides for their own groups. Watch this website for more information about this project.
